Edmonton Oilers: 2 Bounce-Back Candidates for Next Season

Each year, we see players around the NHL bounce back from rough seasons. The 2024-25 campaign should offer more of the same, so in this latest series for NHL Trade Rumors, we will take a look at a few bounce-back candidates from every NHL club.

In this latest edition of the series, we will be looking at the Edmonton Oilers.

Connor Brown: Connor Brown is a clear bounce-back candidate for the Oilers heading into next season. The veteran winger struggled to produce in his first regular season as an Oiler, as he had four goals and 12 points in 71 games. However, his offense noticeably trended in the right direction during the playoffs, as he had two goals and six points in 19 games. When noting that he hit the 20-goal mark twice and 35-point mark three times, he certainly has the potential to get his offense back up this upcoming season.

Jeff Skinner: Jeff Skinner is another Oilers forward who could turn things back around this season. After recording 35 goals and 82 points in 79 games for the Sabres in 2022-23, he had just 24 goals and 46 points this past season. However, when noting that he is expected to have a prominent role in the Oilers' top six, he could get his offense back up. This is especially so if he ends up playing on a line with Connor McDavid or Leon Draisaitl.
