Flyers Rumors: 4 Teams Linked To Disgruntled Prospect Alexei Kolosov

Jonathan Bailey of Philly Hockey Now has linked Philadelphia Flyers goaltending prospect Alexei Kolosov to four potential trade destinations after the 22-year-old refused to report to training camp.

Kolosov, currently in Belarus, has expressed a desire for a guaranteed NHL roster spot, a demand that has prompted several teams to inquire about his availability.

Among the mentioned teams, the Chicago Blackhawks, Ottawa Senators, New Jersey Devils, and Minnesota Wild stand out as the most logical fits.

Bailey highlights the Blackhawks as a particularly intriguing option for Kolosov, noting their rebuilding phase and the lack of a clear long-term solution in net.

With Petr Mrazek and Laurent Brossoit signed for the next two seasons, Chicago offers a path to the NHL for Kolosov without much competition from top prospects.

"Kolosov could be a natural fit for the Blackhawks as they look to secure their future in goal," Bailey suggests, emphasizing the Flyers could also benefit from a deal involving a prospect like defenseman Artem Levshunov.

The Senators, Devils, and Wild each present different opportunities for Kolosov.

Ottawa, despite recently acquiring Linus Ullmark, lacks depth in goaltending prospects, making Kolosov a potential long-term successor.

New Jersey’s veteran tandem of Jacob Markstrom and Jake Allen could provide flexibility for Kolosov to develop, while Minnesota’s cap issues and Marc-Andre Fleury’s nearing retirement create space for a young talent like Kolosov.

However, as Bailey notes, Kolosov’s insistence on a guaranteed NHL role may complicate negotiations with any of these teams.
