Goalie Watch: 3 Free-Agents on Vancouver Canucks' Radar

The Vancouver Canucks are looking for some depth in their crease. The Canucks have reportedly been in the market for a third-string netminder and while the options are somewhat limited, there are three veterans who fit the bill.

First off, Kevin Lankinen continues to be linked to the team. Lankinen, 29, spent the past two seasons with the Nashville Predators. In 2023-24, he went 11-6-0 with a 2.82 GAA and .908 Sv.%, along with one shutout. He's yet to have much of a run as a starting netminder, however is a viable option for a depth role with the Canucks and the team has been rumored to be in talks regarding a PTO.

Martin Jones is another option for the Canucks and is a veteran who has Stanley Cup winning experience. It also doesn't hurt that he's from the area and winding down his career with the Canucks, close to family and friends could be something on his radar. Jones spent last season as the third-stringer with the Toronto Maple Leafs and wound up as the starter for just over a month in early 2024. Jones went 11-8-1 last season with the Leafs and has 466 career NHL games under his belt.

Antti Raanta is the last of the options remaining for the Canucks and reportedly is someone the team has considered. The 35-year-old spent the past three seasons with the Carolina Hurricanes. Raanta went 12-7-2 last year and ended up pushed down the 'Canes depth chart and also appeared in eight games in the AHL. He has a career 139-80-29 record with a career .915 Sv.%.

So far it appears Lankinen and Raanta are leading the way and look for the Canucks to make a decision in the next day or two.
