Insider: Flames “Open For Business” & Nazem Kadri Back on Trade Block

There have been plenty of rumors floating around that the Calgary Flames are about to enter into complete 'tear-down' mode, and now insider David Pagnotta, appearing on NHL Network, has joined the chorus, insisting the team is open for business.

We've heard Nazem Kadri's name mentioned in rumors this offseason, and Pagnotta says he is among those most likely to go:
(Flames GM) Craig Conroy's phone lines are wide open, the door to his office is open, if you want to send him a fax, if you still do that, do it. He's willing to listen.
You've got Naz Kadri who they are willing to trade. Now, he's got a no-movement clause, and my understanding is he would be willing to go a little bit more East, not necessarily back home to Toronto, but somewhere in that vicinity.

Kadri is going into the third season of a 7-year, $7M AAV deal, but the Flames are going into what is most certainly a full rebuild. The two are no longer a fit. Kadri posted 29 goals and 75 points last season in 18:26 ice time per night. It was his sixth 20+ goal season, and he's averaged 27 markers a year over his last three seasons.

The London, Ontario native spent 10 years with the Toronto Maple Leafs to begin his career, but things ended on a sour note in his hometown, as he garnered damaging suspensions in each of his last two playoffs with the Leafs.

But Kadri, of course, isn't the only big name that could be dealt out of Cow-Town this season, as we noted last week that Rasmus Andersson will quite likely be on the move as well, and Pagnotta confirms that "this might be his last season as a Calgary Flame, and they'll be looking at moving him."

The insider even adds that they're willing to listen on defenseman Mackenzie Weegar and forward Jonathan Huberdeau as well.
