Is Phil Kessel making a comeback in 2024-25?

Phil Kessel hasn't played a hockey game since the 2022-23 season when he suited up for the Stanley Cup Champion, Vegas Golden Knights. After a year off, could we see Kessel return to action in 2024-25?

Spittin' Chiclets co-host Paul Bissonnette certainly thinks so as he, like many others, is wondering what Kessel needs to do to earn a PTO with an interested team.

Kessel, the NHL's iron man, appeared in all 82 regular season games for the Golden Knights in 22-23, recording 14 goals and tallying 36 points. He'd also chip in with two assists during four Stanley Cup Playoff appearances.

Kessel turns 37 next month, he was originally a 2006 first-round pick of the Boston Bruins and his 17-year career has spanned across the Bruins, Toronto Maple Leafs, Pittsburgh Penguins, Arizona Coyotes and most recently the Golden Knights

The Madison, WI native has dressed in an impressive 1286 NHL games, scored 579 goals and currently sits with 992 career points. You have to think getting to 1000 points is on his radar to finish off his decorated career which includes three Stanley Cups. 83 points in 100 playoff games is certainly the type of experience a contending team is looking for, isn't it?

PTO's are expected to continue with camps opening night week, so look out for Kessel's name as he'd make a lot of sense for a team like the Minnesota Wild.
