LA Kings & Arthur Kaliyev In Agreement on New Deal

According to The Fourth Period's David Pagnotta, the Los Angeles Kings and forward Arthur Kaliyev are in agreement on a one-year deal. In addition, Pagnotta noted that Kaliyev's new deal is likely at or around his $874,125 qualifying offer and that the young winger is still hoping to be traded.

Kaliyev has been one of the most-talked-about trade candidates of the offseason, but at this juncture, he has yet to be moved. However, this certainly has the potential to change before the start of the season, as both he and the Kings are ready to move on from one another.

Kaliyev is coming off a down season with the Kings, as he had just seven goals and eight assists in 51 games. In addition, he was a healthy scratch multiple times throughout the year, so it was just a tough campaign for the 2019 second-round pick.

However, when noting that Kaliyev is a former top prospect who has shown promise in the past in the NHL, it is still possible that he could turn things around. Because of this, he could generate interest from clubs looking for more forward help from here.

We will now need to wait and see what happens with Kaliyev from here, but for now, his new deal is on the way.
