Minnesota Wild Get Tough Matt Boldy Injury News

The Minnesota Wild have announced that forward Matt Boldy will be out week-to-week due to a lower-body injury.
This is certainly less than ideal news for the Wild, as Boldy is one of the club's top star forwards. The hope from here is that he will be good to go before their regular season opener against the Winnipeg Jets on Oct. 10.

Boldy, 23, is coming off a strong season with the Wild, posting 29 goals and setting new career highs with 40 assists and 69 points. Not having his offense for the start of the season would be very tough for the Wild, and this is especially so when noting that they are looking to get back to being a playoff team in 2024-25.

If the Wild ends up starting the season without Boldy, replacing him in their lineup would be incredibly challenging. Only Wild superstar forward Kirill Kaprizov had more points than Boldy on the team last season. In addition, Boldy finished third on the team in goals, as only Kaprizov and center Joel Eriksson Ek had more.

We will now need to wait and see what happens with Boldy from here. Here's to hoping he has a speedy recovery and does not end up needing to miss any regular season time.
