NHL Trade Rumors: Two Teams Linked to Flyers Goalie Prospect Alexei Kolosov
The status of Philadelphia Flyers goaltending prospect Alexei Kolosov is in limbo, as it was learned that he will not attend rookie training camp. His future with the team is uncertain, to say the least.
The 22-year-old, who was a third-round pick of the Flyers in the 2021 NHL Entry Draft, played just two games for the Flyers' affiliate, the Lehigh Valley Phantoms of the AHL last season, during which time he struggled and was unhappy. He posted an .885 save percentage and a 3.03 goals-against in those two contests. That was after having a terrific season in Russia.
He would have a chance to be a big part of the Flyers' goaltending future if he shows up at main camp, but we learned from insider Anthony Di Marco last week that Kolosov has begun practicing with Dinamo Minsk in Russia, where he had made it clear he wanted to play this season. "What the player and his camp do next will certainly be interesting," said Di Marco.
The Flyers met with him last month, but it certainly sounds like the young goalie doesn't want to report back to Lehigh Valley.
With that, Di Marco has now suggested two teams that would be interested in talking trade with the Flyers for Kolosov, should they decide to go in that direction.
Should the Flyers look to explore the trade route with goaltender Alexei Kolosov, there are a handful of teams who would have interest..

Two teams I'd expect to have interest are Calgary and Nashville.@DailyFaceoff
The insider notes there are "a handful" of teams who would take a look at Kolosov, but he specifically mentions the Calgary Flames and the Nashville Predators.
Both are curious choices, as the Flames have top goaltending prospect Dustin Wolf waiting to take over between the pipes in Calgary, and he was recently named the No. 3 goaltending prospect by Daily Faceoff. The team did, however, trade away this summer their No. 1 from the past four seasons in Jacob Markstrom.
In Nashville, the Predators famously re-signed starting netminder Juuse Saros to an eight-year extension this offseason, then traded the game's top goaltending prospect Yaroslav Askarov to the San Jose Sharks. The Preds' interest in Kolosov would be centered around wanting to re-stock that prospect cupboard between the pipes.
Kolosov comes in at #20 on the Daily Faceoff top goaltending prospects list.
