NHL Trade Rumors: 4 New Potential Destinations Emerge for Ducks' Cam Fowler

The Anaheim Ducks are assembling a good young roster that will take them into their next competitive window. Longtime blueline anchor Cam Fowler, however, realizes he won't be around when that happens.

“I understand that I’m on the second half of my career and these guys are just getting going,” Fowler told Eric Stephens of The Athletic. “Those are the people that are going to push this team to where they want to be.”

With that, Fowler has extended his four-team trade list considerably, and it now consists of over 10 teams. We presented three destinations that would be a fit for Fowler once the news broke earlier this week, now Stephens has named four more teams that should be interested.

Detroit Red Wings

"There’s a strong bet that the Red Wings are one of the teams he has on his trade list," writes Stephens. That would be because Fowler was born in the area and still spends summers in the region. The Red Wings have been fond of adding dependable veterans on the north side of 30 this past offseason, but would they have room for Fowler's $6.5M cap hit after they get done re-signing RFAs Moritz Seider and Lucas Raymond?

Toronto Maple Leafs

This is a team that has rebuilt its defense this offseason with three additions, and might be looking to do more. One more definitive top-four D-man could still be needed. Plus, Toronto is not too far from his Michigan home.

Winnipeg Jets

The Jets' defense abandoned them in the playoffs, surrendering 5.6 goals per game. Then they lost Brenden Dillon in free agency. A rock-solid top-four like Fowler seems like a perfect fit.

Dallas Stars

A team that still has a Stanley Cup window open, they lost deadline acquisition Chris Tanev in free agency after he played a key role on their blueline down the stretch and in the playoffs. Fowler would be a nice add to fill that void.
