Report: Flyers Set Price For Prospect Alexei Kolosov
The Philadelphia Flyers have been without goalie prospect Alexei Kolosov at rookie camp and it appears as though he has decided to play in the KHL again this season. It is very possible the issue is with the Flyers and other teams have already been inquiring about the 22-year-old goaltender's availability and price.
Kolosov came over to North America and played a couple games in the AHL at the end of last season. This was expected to be the transition and he would be a part of training camp as well as battle for a spot on the Flyers this season. As of now, that doesn't seem to be the case.
Elliotte Friedman noted that the Flyers are still trying to figure out a path forward and how things are going to go with Kolosov. The expectation is that he is not going to come over this season if he's a member of Philadelphia's organization. This would make it the second prospect in the past year that wanted out before even playing a game for the Flyers.
It was also revealed by teams that have inquired about Kolosov that the asking price is a second-round pick at this time. That can of course change as the situation changes and what his playing future looks like. The Flyers aren't just waiting patiently for him to join the team and also aren't just going to move him because he may choose to play in the KHL this season. He is a good goalie prospect and the goaltending situation in Philadelphia is questionable, so he could be a part of their future very soon.
