Shocking Development in Alexei Kolosov Drama With Flyers

The Philadelphia Flyers have had a summer-long stalemate with top goaltending prospect Alexei Kolosov, who no-showed for Flyers camp and has stayed put in Russia. But a surprising development is upon us Thursday morning, as the goalie is "in the air" on the way to Philly.

Insider Elliotte Friedman has a report that Kolosov would come over to play some exhibition games and even start off in the American Hockey League, with an agreement that he could potentially return to the KHL in Russia "if he doesn’t stay with the Flyers," which we can assume means if he doesn't get a quick call-up to Philly.

Kevin Weekes then followed with confirmation of Kolosov's impending arrival, and has taken it one step further, claiming that "any past conflicts have been resolved. He looks forward to Camp."

Kolosov played two games with the AHL's Lehigh Valley Phantoms late last season and did not enjoy the experience at all. He did not want to spend his year there, so this agreement as reported by Friedman could be a solution.

The 22-year-old netminder, who was selected in the 3rd round of the 2021 NHL Draft, posted a .907 save percentage and 2.39 goals against average with Minsk Dynamo in the KHL last season, his third full year with the team.
