3 Bold Predictions for Chicago Blackhawks 2024-25 Season

The Chicago Blackhawks enter season two of the Connor Bedard-era, with lofty expectations to take a giant step forward this year. GM Kyle Davidson re-tooled his roster, bringing in several veteran free-agents to try and assemble a winning hockey team in 2024-25.

While it's an uphill climb to reach the playoff picture in the Western Conference, with Bedard in their lineup, there's always a chance. Here's three bold predictions heading into the Blackhawks' '24-25 campaign:

Connor Bedard scores 50 goals

After his rookie season was injury riddled with breaking his jaw, if Bedard plays at least 75 games this season, he could hit 50 goals. The Blackhawks youngster has an elite shot, he's going to be more comfortable in year two, and with a better supporting cast, should see him at least double his 22 goals from last season. Bedard only scored four power-play goals last season, he should reach double digits this year, which should help propel him to the 50 mark.

Seth Jones gets asked to waive no-movement clause

Whether or not Jones does, is another story as one of the tall tasks for Davidson is trying to figure out who is a part of the problem, and who should remain as part of the solution in Chicago's rebuild. After just 31 points in 67 games last season, and set to earn $9.5 million the next five seasons, any Jones trade will be tough to navigate, and admittedly is a long shot. But, if the Blackhawks don't improve this season, look for Davidson to try and move out from underneath the mega contract for his defenseman.

Arvid Soderblom plays more games than Laurent Brossoit

After appearing in 32 games last season, and with Brossoit starting the season on the shelve, and a history of injury troubles, look for Soderblom to play in more games this season. Is it ideal for Chicago? Absolutely not, but it could very well become reality, as they continue to search for a number one goalie they can rely on.
