3 Carolina Hurricanes Prospects Expected To Get NHL Playing Time In 2024-25

The Carolina Hurricanes lost a lot of talent in the offseason and are looking for their prospects to show what they have by not only filling some holes, but giving the team a brighter future. Some are still in the mix for spots, while others may make an appearance at a later date. Here's a look at three prospects who are expected to get NHL playing time in 2024-25 with the Hurricanes.

Bradly Nadeau

Bradly Nadeau is looking good in training camp as he looks to make the team as a 19-year-old. There is most definitely a spot for someone with his offensive abilities. He can shoot and handle the puck very well and after losing some offense, the Hurricanes should at least give him a look. He got into one game for Carolina at the end of last season, but is coming off 19 goals and 46 points in 37 games in his one and only season in the NCAA.

Scott Morrow

Scott Morrow is still in the running for an opening night roster spot on the Hurricanes as well. The team lost Brady Skjei and Brett Pesce because they couldn't pay them. While bringing in the likes of Shayne Gostisbehere and Sean Walker, there is a better chance Morrow starts out in the AHL to maximize playing time first. If a spot opens up due to injury, he is the top choice to step in for a longer period of time.

Morrow does everything. He is talented offensively, is big, can skate, and defends well. He is also coming off of a Hobey Baker nomination after finishing with 30 or more points in his third consecutive NCAA season. He has gotten into two NHL games, but his future looks very bright in Carolina.

Ryan Suzuki

Ryan Suzuki is becoming a veteran of the AHL with four seasons under his belt and has to make a move for a roster spot in the NHL soon. The 23-year-old is coming off his second consecutive 30+ point season in 50-51 games, so the production isn't bad. If anything, it is looking like he will have to start on the fourth line if given the chance this season with Carolina. The depth is not that strong, and with an injury or two, he could make his NHL debut.
