Blue Jackets Rumors: 3 Potential Trade Destinations For Ivan Provorov

Columbus Blue Jackets defenseman Ivan Provorov is already generating trade interest early on this season. This is not particularly surprising, as he is a solid top-four defenseman on a rebuilding team in the final year of his deal. Because of this, let's go over three potential landing spots for the 27-year-old now.

Utah Hockey Club

Utah has already been discussed as a team that would make sense for Provorov. They were recently dealt brutal injury news, as both Sean Durzi and John Marino are out for multiple months. With Utah aiming to take that next step and having cap space, getting a new defenseman is a real necessity. Thus, don't be surprised if they keep Provorov on their radar.

Detroit Red Wings

The Red Wings could look to add to the left side of their defense this season. It is no secret that it could use a boost, and Provorov would undoubtedly provide them with just that. The 2015 first-round pick would be a grand addition to their top four and would work on their power play.

Winnipeg Jets

It has been a great start for the Jets, as they have won each of their first seven games. With this, they once again look like they will be a top team in the Western Conference, so they should be big buyers this year. The Jets could use another high-impact left-shot defenseman, so Provorov could certainly make sense for them.
