New York Rangers Recall Matt Rempe
The New York Rangers have made a notable move, as they have recalled Matt Rempe. This transaction was reported on the American Hockey League's (AHL) official website.
Rempe, 22, was recently assigned to the Hartford Wolf Pack by the Rangers. However, after playing in two games with the Wolf Pack, he is now back with the Rangers and will look to make an impact.
Rempe has played in two games this season with the Rangers, where he has zero points, five hits, and an even plus/minus rating.
With the Rangers facing off against a gritty Washington Capitals next game, it is fair to assume that they wanted to add more toughness to their roster for this matchup. Rempe would provide that, assuming the Rangers dress him for the contest.
Rempe appeared in 17 regular-season games with the Rangers this past season, where he had one goal, one assist, 50 hits, and 71 penalty minutes. He also appeared in 11 playoff games for the Rangers last spring, where he had one goal, 10 penalty minutes, and a plus-2 rating.
