Penguins' captain Sidney Crosby makes interesting comments about team's struggles
The Pittsburgh Penguins may be 3-4-0 to start the 2024-25 season, and presumed starter Tristan Jarry already has been made a healthy scratch, but that doesn't mean captain Sidney Crosby is going to point fingers and place blame on anyone.
The classy Crosby spoke to the Athletic's Josh Yohe after the Penguins 6-3 loss to the Winnipeg Jets on Sunday, and even though it's been an interesting start for the Penguins goaltending situation, it's much more than that explains Crosby.
"It's not our goalies. It's on us to play better in front of them. "We're giving up odd-man rushes," Crosby said. "We're not getting clears. Look at the game-winner. I lose the faceoff. Then I don't get my guy. And it ends up in the back of the net. We can't keep giving up five or six goals a game if we want to win."Sidney Crosby: "Obviously we're playing some really good teams on the trip, so just making sure we get our game to where it needs to be. We did a lot of good things in Winnipeg, and had some time to practice here today and regroup and get ready for the next one."
