Penguins GM opens up about goaltending situation in Pittsburgh

The Pittsburgh Penguins are off to a 3-4-1 start through their first eight games, and one of the biggest surprises so far this season, has been within their crease. Presumed starter Tristan Jarry has already lost his starting job, essentially twice, and has even been made a healthy scratch at times this season.

Alex Nedeljkovic has made his way back from injury and has taken over as the team's starter, meanwhile 22-year-old rookie Joel Blomqvist continues to stay on their roster as a third option, and has seen some action early on this season. The Penguins have allowed 4.25 goals per game this season, ranking them third last in the league.

GM Kyle Dubas discussed the Penguins' goaltending situation with Sportsnet Pittsburgh, and it's quite obvious things are wide open in net for the Pens:

Jarry is signed for three more years at $5.3 million AAV and owns a 12-team no-trade clause. Jarry as posted a 1-1-0 record so far, with a 5.47 GAA and .836 Sv.%. Regardless of Dubas' desires, if Jarry is moved, he'll have to add in a sweetener to facilitate any trade.
