Report: Chicago Blackhawks discussing trade for forward help

The Chicago Blackhawks have begun season two of the Connor Bedard-era, and so far through seven games, own a 2-4-1 record. While the team is transitioning out of their rebuild and into more of a re-tool mentality, GM Kyle Davidson has been working the phones, but so far no luck.

According to Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet, the Blackhawks are in the market for help down the middle of the ice.

Cut-and-paste with Chicago, when it comes to centres. Centres for everyone!

Friedman reports the Blackhawks have the same aspirations of the Calgary Flames and Nashville Predators, when it comes to their wants and needs for another center.

The Blackhawks have $4.5 million in cap space, so they certainly have the financial flexibility to get creative when it comes to adding talent to the roster. Davidson has shown he's not shy when it comes to making bold moves, and ideally, the team is competing for a Stanley Cup Playoff spot as soon as this season.

We'll have to wait and see how advanced trade talks get early on this season in Chicago, but it's very likely, teams will be waiting until the American Thanksgiving mark in November, before they decide to make any significant roster decisions, especially on the trade market.

So far this season, the Blackhawks have been led by Teuvo Teravainen and Seth Jones, who both have produced a point-per-game to start the year.
