Ross Colton Is Latest Avalanche Forward out for Extended Absence

Another tough injury break for the Colorado Avalanche up front, as red-hot Ross Colton will now be forced to miss extended time after blocking a shot with his foot.

As noted by Elliotte Friedman, Colton left the arena in a walking boot after Monday night's game.

Colton is tied for second in the NHL in goals, with eight markers in ten games.

His breakthrough on the scoresheet has seen him playing 18:38 per night, a career-high by a significant amount.

Colton now joins a long list of key Avalanche forwards out due to injury.

Jonathan Drouin, Artturi Lehkonen, Valeri Nichushkin (suspension) and Gabe Landeskog (out for 2+ years) are all also out.
