Steven Stamkos calls out Nashville Predators after 0-5 start

The Nashville Predators were picked as one of the Western Conference's best teams before the start of the season, and it turns out, all the additions they've made, have not paid off early on. The Preds have started 0-5, and things are started to heat up.

Steven Stamkos didn't mince any words after the team's latest loss, and wants to see more consistency out of his Predators' teammates. There's still time to get things back on track.

"It's the best league in the world for a reason, and it's tough to win hockey games," Stamkos said, according to the team's website. "You have to earn it, and we have to play a full 60 (minutes). I think it's just been a little too sporadic, in terms of our efforts in games, and we'll look to change that."

"It's tough sledding, for sure," Stamkos said. "We can't just keep saying the same things over and over in terms of, 'OK, the effort was there, OK, we had a lot of shots, we had a lot of looks.' At some point, we've got to go do it. ... It's certainly not fun when you're not winning, and it's a tough league to win in, no question about it. But, we're a better group than what we're showing right now."

Stamkos isn't the only one who has come public with their frustrations, as fellow newcomer Jonathan Marchessault called the team 'fragile' after their four loss. Through five games Marchessault has recorded four points, meanwhile Stamkos has registered just one goal.

Nashville will look for their first win of the season on Tuesday, when they'll faceoff against the Boston Bruins.
