The injury occurred Tuesday night in the third period when Thomas blocked a shot from the point by the Winnipeg Jets' Neal Pionk.

Thomas actually skated for two shifts after the incident, but was clearly laboring. The team says he'll be re-evaluated in six weeks.
It's a huge loss for the Blues, as the 25-year-old star center had six points in the Blues' first seven games, and is coming off an All-Star season in which he recorded career highs across the board with 26 goals, 60 assists and 86 points, while playing 20:58 per night.
The first round pick (20th overall) in the 2017 NHL Draft, Thomas is in his 7th season with the Blues.
St. Louis is 4-3-0 after seven games this season.
