Vegas Golden Knights Sign Tanner Pearson

The Vegas Golden Knights have signed veteran forward Tanner Pearson to a one-year, $775,000 contract.

Pearson was invited to the Golden Knights' training camp on a professional tryout (PTO) contract. Now, he has clearly impressed the Pacific Division club, as he has now earned this deal for the season from them.

Pearson, 32, spent this past season as a member of the Montreal Canadiens. In 54 games with the Original Six club on the year, he had five goals, eight assists, and a minus-12 rating. Overall, it was a bit of a quiet year for the veteran winger, but he will now look to have a bounce-back season from here.

Given Pearson's past success, he certainly has the potential to improve his offense with the Golden Knights. For example, just back in 2021-22 with the Vancouver Canucks, he had 14 goals to go along with 34 points in 68 contests. He has also hit the 40-point mark three times in his career.

Overall, there is no harm in the Golden Knights signing Pearson to this cheap one-year deal. It will be very interesting to see what kind of season the 2012 first-round pick puts together for the Golden Knights from here.
