Blackhawks Rumors: Taylor Hall on his way out of Chicago?
The Chicago Blackhawks travelled to Vancouver to take on the Canucks Saturday, and in a surprising turn of events, made veteran winger Taylor Hall a healthy scratch.
The 33-year-old forward has recorded just two goals and six points in 17 games this season, while making $6 million against the cap. The Blackhawks continue to struggle to start the season and a big reason is their inconsistent offense.
Hall's struggles have made things hard on the Blackhawks' coaching staff as they haven't been able to find someone to play with Connor Bedard, and it shows. Bedard has recorded just three goals in 18 games, while still leading the team in points with 13.
The Blackhawks are 6-11-1 on the year and are tied with the Nashville Predators for last in the league, heading into Sunday's action. Hall is quickly becoming a trade candidate for GM Kyle Davidson, as even though the player wants to remain as part of the solution for the team's rebuild, Davidson won't have a choice but to listen on the trade market. Hall's a pure rental, in the final year of his contract, and while he's had a lengthy history of injury troubles and cold stretches, when playing well, his speed and finishing ability can move the needle.
Hall owns a 10-team no-trade clause. The trade deadline is slated for March 7, however if Hall continues to be on the outside looking in at the Blackhawks' lineup, he won't be lasting much longer in Chicago.
