Blue Jackets Claim Dante Fabbro Off Waivers From Predators
The Columbus Blue Jackets have claimed defenseman Dante Fabbro off of waivers from the Nashville Predators.
Fabbro was surprisingly placed on waivers by the Predators on Saturday (Nov. 9). While the right-shot defenseman had been the subject of trade rumors, it was not expected that the Predators would allow teams around the NHL to have the opportunity to claim him for free. Now, they have Fabbro for nothing to the Blue Jackets.
Fabbro should now be a nice part of the Blue Jackets' defensive group moving forward. It is no question that the Blue Jackets could use more depth on the right side of their blueline, and Fabbro will now provide them with just that.
Fabbro, 26, played in six games for the Predators this season, where he had zero points, one hit, and a minus-3 rating. During this past season with the Predators, he had three goals, 13 points, and a plus-9 rating in 56 games.
Fabbro was selected by the Predators with the 17th overall pick of the 2016 NHL Entry Draft.
