Canucks Make Shocking Move With Star Forward JT Miller
So who had JT Miller being benched before Elias Pettersson on their Bingo card?
In the Vancouver Canucks' 5-3 loss to the Nashville Predators on Sunday, All-Star forward JT Miller was benched for the final 14:40 of the third period (only two shifts in the third, one on the power play).
Was it an injury situation? Head coach Rick Tocchet said 'no', and offered only a blunt, “I just went with the guys that I thought could get us back in the game.”
Insider Rick Dhaliwal, however, was questioning just what's going on, on his Donnie & Dhali podcast on Monday.
"It is very clear he has a lingering injury, he is not 100%. Some think it's a shoulder injury or in that area.."@DonTaylor5 and @DhaliwalSports chatted about J.T. Miller's benching last night. https://t.co/h4e2SKM7eJ pic.twitter.com/E5RVXW8aKz

It is very clear he has a lingering injury. Some think it's a shoulder injury. He is not 100%.
They went on to analyze the shift that they feel "pissed Tocchet off." It appeared on a penalty kill late in the second period that Miller "wasn't moving his feet" as he should. A power play goal by the Predators made it 4-2 for Nashville.
"Something's wrong with JT Miller," concluded Dhaliwal. "If he's injured, sit him! Sit the guy and let him get healthy!"
Following his first 100-point season last year, and a career-high 37 goals, Miller is has 6 goals and 16 points in 17 games to start the season.
