Insider: 3 teams to watch on trade market as talks heating up

According to hockey insider Elliotte Friedman, the Boston Bruins, New York Islanders and Columbus Blue Jackets are three teams to watch on the trade market. Friedman shared his insights on Saturday's Hockey Night in Canada broadcast and opened up about the latest talks surrounding each hockey club.

The Bruins are 8-8-3 to start the season and are in desperate need of some more depth amongst their top-six forwards. The Columbus Blue Jackets are open to just about anything, with an openness to take on bad contracts if it means a sweetener is a part of the deal. The Islanders are 7-7-4 on the year and are in need of more offense, which has been an issue for several years now.

Meanwhile, the Predators are also another team to watch, tied for the league's worst record and after a very busy offseason, GM Barry Trotz may have to change direction and kick-start a re-tool/rebuild before March's trade deadline.

The trade chatter is picking up around the league, as American Thanksgiving is usually a milestone day to watch. We've seen the Pittsburgh Penguins also open for business with their latest trade of Lars Eller, and it doesn't sound like we'll have to wait long for another move, as the Bruins, Islanders, Blue Jackets and Predators have quickly become three teams to watch.
