Insider: Predators Will Not Be Making Any 'Panic' Moves

The Nashville Predators, who 'won' the offseason, have not been 'winning' in the regular season, as yet.

After making huge free agent splashes by signing the likes of Steven Stamkos, Jonathan Marchessault and Brady Skjei, the Preds started out the campaign with five straight losses, and still stand at 4-7-1, and frustration is setting in.

They're doing their due diligence on the trade market, but according to insider David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period, GM Barry Trotz will not be making any panic moves.

Right now, four points out of a playoff spot, despite their rough start to the new season, I don't really get the sense that they are looking or itching to make an impact type of move or a panic type of move just now.

Pagnotta suggests that eventually, they'll need to bring in a second-line center, as "they haven't really seen somebody take the reins just yet in the first month of the season. So that may be something they address down the road".

Thus far, Thomas Novak, Colton Sisson and Juuso Parssinen have tried their hand at the 2C spot, but none to much success.

As Pagnotta notes, the Predators do have over $4.5 million in cap space, so they could bring in a contract to help, but he proposes that Trotz will continue to remain confident that the team can "dig themselves out of the hole" they put themselves in.
