Islanders Lose D-Man Mike Reilly "Indefinitely"
New York Islanders defenseman Mike Reilly will be lost to the team "indefinitely" with an upper body injury that was originally called day-to-day, but has now officially been deemed a concussion.
After a scary hit in Buffalo Mike Reilly’s injury is no longer day to day. He is out indefinitely listed as an upper body injury. Everyone at #Isles nation is wishing you a speedy recovery Mike 🙌#Islanders #MikeReilly #NHLHockey #Injury #Update #IslandersLive pic.twitter.com/TNkwUmNFZb

Reilly is suffering from a concussion after hitting his head following a check into the boards and an awkward fall just over a week ago in a game against the Buffalo Sabres.
He does leave a hole in the lineup as he was serving in a depth role on the Islanders blueline. His minutes had gone down this season to just 15:45, the lowest in his past seven seasons. He had no points in 11 games with a +1 plus/minus rating.
Reilly is a 10-year NHL veteran and has 122 points in 411 games.
The Isles' backline is hurting as it is also without Adam Pelech and Alexander Romanov from the left side of their defense corps.
Isaiah George has stepped in, making his debut the past couple of games, and the 20-year-old has performed well, playing 19:50 time on ice per contest, and blocking four shots in those two games. He helped lead the London Knights to an OHL championship last season in juniors.
