Nashville Predators' GM Confirms Team is Open for Business

The Nashville Predators are off to a very slow 4-7-1 record to the season, after their busy offseason skyrocketed expectations. GM Barry Trotz isn't happy with what he's seeing and cut an interview recently to shed some light on his plans moving forward.

If the Predators don't turn things around, some big changes are on the way. “I’m trying to do some things right now,” Trotz explained. “We will be limited a little because of some of the contracts we do have. If we don’t get it going, then I’m going to start our rebuild plan a little bit.”

“We brought in the veteran players this year to be a threat…and then in the next coming years our young guys and take an even bigger and bigger role…If there’s a position where we fall out and it’s not happening, or doesn’t come together…we’re going to shake it up.”

Trotz spent a boatload of money this past summer, signing the likes of Jonathan Marchessault, Steven Stamkos and Brady Skjei, but unfortunately the team hasn't gelled as Trotz was hoping. Stamkos has just two goals and five points in 12 games, Marchessault also only has scored twice, meanwhile Trotz gave Juuse Saros a massive contract extension, and the Preds starter has posted a .902 save percentage in his 10 appearances.

Here's the full radio interview from Trotz, as the heat is on in Nashville and trade talks are starting to cook:
