NHL Rumors: 3 Sharks Who Could Be Traded This Season
The San Jose Sharks are in the middle of a rebuild and are once again in the bottom portion of the NHL standings this season. Because of this, it seems very likely that they will be sellers once we get closer to the trade deadline. Due to this, let's discuss three trade candidates from the Sharks now.
Cody Ceci
Ceci is a clear player to watch in trade talks this season. The right-shot defenseman is in the final season of his contract and should generate a lot of interest from playoff teams looking to add to the right side of their defense. This is because he has plenty of playoff experience and can handle playing top-four minutes.
Mikael Granlund
Granlund has had a magnificent start to the season, posting seven goals and 18 points in 17 games. This is after he had 60 points in 69 games last season. Due to his awesome play since joining the Sharks, he could be a very valuable trade chip for the club if they elect to shop him. Teams looking for top-six forward help will be calling.
Mackenzie Blackwood
Blackwood has been creating plenty of buzz in the rumor mill early on in the season. He is in the final season of his current deal, and the Sharks have Yaroslav Askarov waiting in the wings. Thus, it would not be too surprising if we see Blackwood find a new home at some point this campaign.
