Predators Rumors: Alexandre Carrier Becoming Trade Candidate
After a big offseason of spending, the Nashville Predators have had a brutal start to the season. Because of this, the Predators are already looking to make some moves and have specifically been trying to add a top-six center.
According to NHL insider Frank Seravalli, Predators defenseman Alexandre Carrier could be used as a trade chip to help the Predators land a center.
Here is exactly what Seravalli said on the matter:
No secret that the Nashville Predators need to add a center to that group, but what's interesting is you have to give to get. And so, what are some of the names that could potentially be on the move? I'm told that Alex Carrier, the defenseman in the first year of a three-year x $3.75 million deal, has been a name that has been talked about.
Carrier, 28, could certainly grab the attention of other clubs. As Seravalli noted, the right-shot defenseman has multiple years left on, so he would be more than a rental for any interested clubs. In addition, he has shown that that he can play top-four minutes and on the penalty kill.
Carrier has appeared in 17 games this season with the Predators, where he has one goal, five points, 15 hits, and a minus-7 rating.
