Report: Predators rejecting trade offers involving specific pieces

The Nashville Predators have not met expectations so far this season, and GM Barry Trotz is now trying to get creative to find a solution for his roster.

Trotz spent a boatload of money this offseason to add all over his lineup, but through 20 games, the Preds are near the bottom of the NHL standings, with a 6-11-3 record to their name. Trade talks are heating up in a major way and Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman shed some light on what's going on currently in Nashville, when it comes to Trotz and trade talks.

5. Nashville’s three first-round picks in 2025 (Tampa Bay and Vegas, in addition to its own) are coveted by teams they talk to, but GM Barry Trotz so far shows no indication to move them. In addition to a centre, he’s also looking for a top four defender with a bit of term.

The Predators are not open to moving any first-round picks at this time, even with three at their disposal. There's been speculation that Alexandre Carrier is available on defense, along with some of their depth forwards.

In order to add someone significant on defense or up front, Trotz will need to loosen up his grip on some of the Predators top draft picks, because unfortunately for him, his roster isn't loaded with trade candidates for onlooking teams.

The Predators are a prime example of how you can't buy a Stanley Cup. Big money contracts were handed out all summer long, and so far, the results are no where to be found. Maybe it's time to go to a U2 concert to try and turn this season around?
