Sabres Reclaim James Reimer Off Waivers From Ducks
The Buffalo Sabres have reclaimed James Reimer off waivers from the Anaheim Ducks.
Earlier this season, the Ducks claimed Reimer off waivers from the Sabres. However, after a brief stay with the Ducks, Reimer is now back with the Sabres.
Reimer signed a one-year, $1 million contract with the Sabres during this offseason. However, he never made an appearance with the Sabres before getting claimed by the Ducks.
Reimer appeared in two games while with the Ducks during this season, where he had a 0-2-0 record, a .864 save percentage (SV%), and a 4.50 goals-against average (GAA).
It is not too surprising to see the Sabres bring back Reimer. Besides previously signing him this past summer, Sabres goalie Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen is also sidelined. Thus, bringing back Reimer gives the more depth at the position while their top goalie is sidelined.
In 503 career games split between the Toronto Maple Leafs, San Jose Sharks, Florida Panthers, Carolina Hurricanes, Detroit Red Wings, and Ducks, he has a 215-179-63 record, a .910 SV%, and a 2.89 GAA.
