Sabres Rumors: 3 Potential Trade Candidates Buffalo GM Could Move

The Buffalo Sabres are off to a 5-7-1 start to their season and GM Kevyn Adams is likely starting to feel the pressure to make a move. The Sabres continue to be on the outside looking in at the Stanley Cup Playoff picture year after year, and eventually, something is going to have to give, either a big trade or Adams is going to be relieved of his duties.

The Sabres are open for business. Here's three potential trade candidates out of Buffalo:

Henri Jokiharju

Jokiharju was sent a message earlier this week from head coach Lindy Ruff, as he was made a healthy scratch on Wednesday. The Sabres ended up winning 5-1 and after the game, Ruff admitted his patience was running thin and that he felt he'd given Jokiharju all the chances in the world to get his game up to standard. The blueliner has three points in 12 games and is a pending unrestricted free-agent, earning $3.1 million against the cap. It's very likely Jokiharju is dealt before the trade deadline in March.

Jack Quinn

At just 23 years old, Quinn is full of potential, but unfortunately to this point, can't seem to find consistent production. Quinn has just two points in 12 games this season, recorded 19 points in 27 games last year, and his rookie season in 2022-23, tallied 37 points in 75 games. The 2020 eighth-overall pick could be someone Adams looks to move out for a proven NHL forward who can move the needle in Buffalo.

Jason Zucker

It could be a quick trip to Buffalo for Zucker, as the veteran forward signed a one-year $5-million contract with the Sabres in the summer, and now could be moved. He's played well with 10 points in 13 games, but if the Sabres aren't anywhere near the playoff picture, it's a given that Adams is going to cash in on his rental.
