Sabres Rumors: Multiple Names Listed As Potential Trade Options For Buffalo

The Buffalo Sabres, under GM Kevyn Adams, are aggressively pursuing a top-six forward to boost their playoff hopes this season.

According to Buffalo Hockey Now’s Jason Moser, Adams is “one of the NHL’s most active early-season general managers” and is working to bring in an experienced scorer without parting with key assets from the current roster.

With over $7 million in cap space, Buffalo has the financial flexibility to absorb a higher-salary player, a significant advantage over many teams that are up against the cap.

Moser outlines a range of potential targets from struggling teams, with several pending unrestricted free agents in the mix.

Notable names include Anaheim’s Frank Vatrano and Robby Fabbri, San Jose’s Mikael Granlund, Detroit’s Patrick Kane, and New York Islanders’ Brock Nelson and Kyle Palmieri.

Also mentioned as possible options are Gustav Nyquist from Nashville, along with Taylor Hall and Ryan Donato from Chicago.

Each of these players could provide the Sabres with the scoring punch needed to balance their lineup, particularly to support the second line led by Dylan Cozens and Jack Quinn.

As Moser noted, “Adams is laying the groundwork early,” testing the waters to gauge availability as the season unfolds.

“They want to win this year,” insider Elliotte Friedman observed, highlighting Adams’ intent to bolster the roster without sacrificing its core.
