Senators' Josh Norris calls out his team for horrible road record
The Ottawa Senators entered this season with sky-high expectations. They landed a starting goaltender in Linus Ullmark in the offseason, they re-tooled slightly up front, and making the Stanley Cup Playoffs was the goal this year. So far this season, the Senators can't seem to win a road game.
Ottawa is 1-5-0 on the road this season, they sit in sixth in the Atlantic Division with 12 points and Sens forward Josh Norris has seen enough. Norris spoke to the media about what he wants to see out of the team, as losing on the road is getting old.
We haven't been great on the road, and we've got to find a way to start winning some games on the road.
Senators coach Travis Green didn't mince his words after the Senators got blown out in Buffalo earlier this week. Green is also frustrated with the way his team's playing at the moment.
They deserved to win. They played better than us, special teams. We lost a special-team battle. I thought we weren't strong enough on the puck in certain moments of the game. Sometimes you get what you deserve, and we got it. We got what we deserved tonight.
The Senators are 5-1-0 on home ice and need to find a healthy balance in order to climb up the standings. They'll look to continue their home-ice success on Thursday with the New York Islanders in town, and then will hit the road for two important divisional games against Boston and Toronto.
