Video: Capitals' Charlie Lindgren scores on himself vs. Lightning

It was a tough scene for Washington Capitals' goaltender Charlie Lindgren on Wednesday night in Tampa Bay. On what appeared to be an innocent dump in, Lindgren went to backhand the puck around his net for his defenseman, and unfortunately, got his angles mixed up and fired it into the back of the net.

A goalie goal, but the wrong net...

Lightning forward Brayden Point was credited with the goal. Lindgren somehow managed to get past the huge gaffe, as the Capitals came back to claim a 5-4 win in regulation, with the netminder making 24 saves in the win.

The southpaw netminder has a 5-5-0 record alongside a .901 save percentage and 2.64 goals-against average. The Capitals sit third in the Metropolitan Division with a 15-6-1 record and are off to a surprisingly strong start to the season.

Let's hope Lindgren won't make his next start so hard on himself.
