Wild Rumors: Marco Rossi Could Be On The Move
NHL insider Chris Johnston has released his latest trade board for The Athletic, and it has some very interesting names. Among the players who Johnston says could be on the move this season is Minnesota Wild forward Marco Rossi.
Johnston had Rossi at the No. 15 spot on his list. The NHL insider specifically noted that Rossi is a candidate who could be used in a one-for-one swap.
Rossi, 23, is currently in the final season of his contract and is a pending restricted free agent. With Rossi still being under team control after this season, the Wild do not need to rush a move. However, the young forward continues to create chatter as a trade candidate, and it will be interesting to see if the Wild end up dealing him this season.
Rossi has been off to a solid start this season with the Wild, as he has five goals, 15 points, and a plus-7 rating in 19 games. Teams looking for help in their top six could certainly make a push to acquire the 2020 ninth-overall pick. Rossi also set career highs last season with 21 goals, 19 assists, and 40 points in 82 games.
Rossi could be an appealing target for both playoff and non-playoff teams, as he is young and would be more than a rental. We will now need to wait and see if he gets traded from here.
