Edmonton Oilers Add to Blueline Depth With Waiver Claim
This will not be the answer to their search for a top-four defender, but the Edmonton Oilers have nevertheless made an add to their blueline, claiming Boston Bruins D-man Alec Regula off waivers.

The right-shot defenseman has 22 career appearances in the NHL, though none since the 2022-23 season with the Chicago Blackhawks.
Regula adds to the growing stockpile of depth defenders the Oilers have gathered up this season along with Travis Dermott, Josh Brown, Ronnie Attard and Connor Carrick. Most of them, with Regula now included, will fortify the depth on the Bakersfield Condors blueline in the AHL.
The 6'4" Regula is a puck-mover, and last season with the Bruins' AHL affiliate in Providence, he registered 22 assists and 26 points in 55 games. He has just one point in his 22 NHL contests.
He was a 3rd round selection by the Detroit Red Wings (57th overall) in the 2018 NHL Draft.
