Ex-NHL Coach Destroys NY Rangers: "Worse & Worse Every Day"
Bruce Boudreau had a 16-year career as an NHL head coach, and he's seen just about everything. But what he's seeing with the New York Rangers' complete collapse even has him shocked. He said on TSN on Monday after watching their latest debacle, a 5-0 loss to the New Jersey Devils, that we could see some heads roll.
Boy, this is the start of something. If the Rangers don't dig out of this in a hurry, a lot of heads are gonna roll...
It's getting worse and worse every day. I don't know whether the question would be to blow it up, but I think they're gonna make a really big move. They've gotta change it, whether it's the chemistry, the GM, the coach, somethings gonna happen, where this team is gonna make a distinctive change in the way they look, come this time probably within the next two weeks if this stays the same way.
Boudreau says Monday's move to scratch one of the team's leaders, Chris Kreider, is a major shot to the bow of this team, and a serious statement that they're not going to take the losing and chaos any longer.
"If you want to make a statement, you've gotta do something to one of your top players... This is not a third-line guy that's getting scratched, this is a top-line guy, a first power play unit guy, this is a leader on this team... But he could have gone down the line.. He could have (benched) Zibanejad..."
Of course, the Kreider move certainly didn't work, as it resulted in that 5-0 loss, and the Rangers were able to muster just 12 shots on goal the entire game.
To add insult to injury, the Devils put up a video on the scoreboard showing Rangers fans cheering loudly when the Devils drafted Jack Hughes at No. 1 in the 2019 NHL Draft, leaving Kaapo Kakko for the Blueshirts at #2. And we all know how that turned out.
Not only did the Devils beat the Rangers 5-0 on Monday … but they played a video of Rangers fans cheering when New Jersey drafted Jack Hughes over Kappo Kakko ☠️
