NHL Rumors: Analyst Shuts Down Evgeni Malkin To Stars Rumor
With Tyler Seguin potentially sidelined until the playoffs after undergoing hip surgery, Robinson proposed that the Stars could use long-term injured reserve (LTIR) to create cap space for a high-profile acquisition.
Malkin, 38, was floated as a potential option to bolster Dallas’ lineup, with prospects like Logan Stankoven or Wyatt Johnston speculated as possible trade pieces. However, the scenario hinged on Malkin waiving his full no-movement clause, a significant hurdle for any deal.
Last few years it seems like 25 percent of my job is shooting down nonsense about Sidney Crosby leaving Pittsburgh.

Annoying. Whatever.
Anyway, take what I said about Crosby — it’s never happening — and apply it to Evgeni Malkin.
Good grief, make it stop. https://t.co/UDapQWnvbx
Rob Rossi of The Athletic dismissed the idea outright, calling it baseless. “It’s never happening,” Rossi stated, drawing a comparison to past trade rumors involving Sidney Crosby, which he has repeatedly refuted.
Rossi emphasized that Malkin, like Crosby, is committed to finishing his career in Pittsburgh and has shown no interest in leaving.
“Take what I said about Crosby—it’s never happening—and apply it to Malkin,” he asserted. The Penguins, despite their struggles this season, remain firm in their stance of keeping their core trio of Malkin, Crosby, and Kris Letang intact, regardless of outside speculation.
Evgeni Malkin to the Dallas Stars?

I've been sitting on this rumour for awhile, but it feels like the right time to slip it out there pic.twitter.com/rV9XDp1yAs
Even Robinson acknowledged the obstacles to such a move, pointing to Malkin’s no-movement clause as the biggest roadblock.
While the Penguins are in the midst of another challenging season, there appears to be no appetite within the organization or from Malkin himself to part ways.
According to Rossi, these rumors are little more than speculation, and Malkin remains firmly tied to Pittsburgh, where he’s expected to finish his storied career.
