Red Wings Rumors: Detroit GM making trade offers as talks intensify

The Detroit Red Wings have been stuck in the middle of the NHL for a few years now and it's becoming quite clear GM Steve Yzerman is getting frustrated with the lack of results.

The Wings sit with a 10-11-3 record through their first 24 games this season and according to The Fourth Period, Yzerman is trying to make changes to his roster.

The Detroit Red Wings enter December third-last in the Eastern Conference, ahead of only the Ottawa Senators and Montreal Canadiens, and speculation has started to intensify over possible changes GM Steve Yzerman may be contemplating.

The Red Wings are believed to be in the market for a young, second-line centre, in addition to a top-six scoring winger and upgrades on the blueline.

The Red Wings have $7.7 million in deadline cap space, they have a slew of prospects who aren't quite NHL ready, and they have one 2025 first, second and two third-round picks. Yzerman has options to consider moving, but it's some free-agent signings who haven't helped push the envelope forward.

Detroit is quickly becoming a team to watch who are in the trade market to make a splash. Yzerman is reportedly looking to make some changes, which could be significant, so it's going to be fun to watch how things go down in Motown.
