Sabres GM Kevyn Adams Lays Out Puzzling Reason For Sabres Struggles
Just when we thought the Buffalo Sabres had turned things around with a 7-2-0 stretch, they've gone out and lost five straight, including blowing a four-goal lead at home on Tuesday, and the chaos surrounding the team has reached new heights. So much so that GM Kevyn Adams was forced to call an unprecedented media conference Friday to address what's going on.
But he said some things that left observers shaking their heads, as Adams tried to go through what's wrong with his team:
#Sabres GM Kevyn Adams "We are not a destination city right now."

Insinuating that it's difficult to lure notable free agents to Buffalo, Adams said "We are not a destination city right now."
Then he added: “We don’t have palm trees, we have taxes in New York.”
Notable Sabres analysts were beside themselves wondering what Adams was trying to do with his comments on Friday.
Kevyn Adams talking about how Buffalo struggles to attracted talent because it's not a "destination city" ... he knows trades are allowed, right? For players on long-term deals?

I legitimately think I'm more angry with the Sabres after hearing Kevyn Adams right now than I was after they blew a four goal home lead on Tuesday night.

No wonder no one actually wants to come here. This is absolutely disgraceful.
ESPN's Greg Wyshynski asked if Adams "knows trades are allowed, right? For players on long-term deals?", while Patrick Moran called the press conference "disgraceful."
🌴🌴🌴🌴🌴🌴🌴🌴🌴🌴🌴🌴🌴. 13 palm trees for 13 season without the postseason. In April there will be a 14th.

Just so you can have a look yourself, find Adams' full conference here, which includes him saying he does know what it takes to win a Stanley Cup, and "We're not going to make a knee-jerk decision or reactionary trade that sets us back."
