TRADE: Predators & Avalanche Swing Another Deal

For the second time this season, the Nashville Predators and the Colorado Avalanche have connected on a trade, with the Preds sending Juuso Pärssinen to Colorado in exchange for forward Ondrej Pavel and a 2027 3rd-round pick.

Parssinen, 23, has been on the block for the past several weeks. He's a 6'3" center/forward who has played 15 games with the Preds this season, recording five points with a minus-8 rating. Last year with the Milwaukee Admirals of the AHL, he posted 25 points in 36 games with a plus/minus rating of +12 and has a bit of upside. Overall, he has 42 points in 104 NHL games. He was a 7th-round pick in the 2019 NHL Draft.

Pavel, 24, played two games for the Avalanche last season but has been with the AHL's Colorado Eagles this year, recording two assists in 14 games.

The two teams made a successful swap earlier in the season, trading backup goalies, with veteran Scott Wedgewood going to Colorado for youngster Justus Annunen about a month ago. That one has worked out quite well for both sides, with Wedgewood going 4-2-0 record with a .932 save percentage for the Avs, and Annunen going 2-1-0 with a .941 in four games for Nashville.
