Travis Konecny Nailed in the Head, Then Faces Wrath of Tortorella
It was a tough day on Saturday for Philadelphia Flyers star forward Travis Konecny, in more ways than one.
First, he was sandwiched in front of the Boston Bruins' net, taking a knock to the head and having his helmet fly off.
No official word, but the broadcast thinks Travis Konecny was pulled from the penalty box because of a concussion spotter.

He continued to play after that, but then drew what can only be called an undisciplined penalty about four minutes later in the third period of a one-goal game. Konecny was pulled from the game, first for precautionary reasons, then for disciplinary reasons.
The move was apparently made by the concussion spotter, but head coach John Tortorella wasn't letting Konecny off that easily:

"He was pulled by the spotter and then I stopped playing him," said Tortorella after the game. "He's undisciplined, he's just too undisciplined."
Konecny was eligible to return to the game after being checked out by the concussion spotter, but Torts was more interested in teaching him a lesson. The team's leading score did not play again down the stretch of the 3rd period or in overtime. The Flyers would go on to lose in OT.
The 27-year-old, who signed an 8-year, $70 million extension this past summer that would keep him in Philly until 2033, is currently tops on the team with 13 goals and 31 points in 27 games. Last year, he set career marks for goals (33) and points (68).
However, Konency wasn't the only one feeling the wrath of Tortorella after this game. After the wide disparity in calls (8-4 against Philly) the Flyers coach blasted the refs.
"The sh*t that went on here tonight is just ridiculous. I'm proud of the way our team played. Did we piss another one away? Yeah. But other people had a little bit to do with that also."
