3 Potential Trade Destinations for Blackhawks' Taylor Hall

The Chicago Blackhawks are likely going to trade veteran forward Taylor Hall ahead of the March 7 deadline. Chicago is once again a bottom-feeder in the Western Conference, and despite Hall's efforts to work out an extension before the trade deadline, speculation is brewing that GM Kyle Davidson will be trading his 'rental' to cash in on the asset.

There's a decent chance Hall could get traded and then re-sign with the Blackhawks this summer. Here's three teams to watch on the trade market:

Edmonton Oilers

It would be a pretty cool story to see Hall go back to Edmonton and then win a Stanley Cup. Edmonton is in the market for top-four defenseman and depth forwards, so Hall could give them a speedy winger for their middle six, and someone who can help out with secondary scoring.

Boston Bruins

Speaking of reunions, Hall spent parts of three seasons in Boston and was a very productive player during the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Boston is desperate for some top-six help, and with losing Jake DeBrusk last summer, Hall would be a nice replacement for their stretch run, and give Brad Marchand and David Pastrnak some help offensively. The Bruins have $5.7 million in cap space to work with and will should be quite active ahead of March 7.

Colorado Avalanche

The Avalanche have managed to work their way past a lot of injury troubles this season and are once again a powerhouse in the West. They will be in the mix for some more depth among their top-six and Hall's style of play would fit in perfectly in Colorado. The Avs have $3.8 million in deadline cap space to work with before March 7, and the Blackhawks should be open to retaining some of Hall's $6 million cap hit. Hall owns a 10-team no-trade list, but Colorado would be one he'd approve.
