5 Potential Landing Spots for Canucks' J.T Miller

The Vancouver Canucks are moving on from forward J.T Miller before the March 7 trade deadline. Canucks' president Jim Rutherford recently admitted there's no good solution to keeping Miller and Elias Pettersson together on the team, and expectation across the league is that Miller will surely be dealt.

Here's five teams to keep an eye on as the trade deadline is just over a month away:

Boston Bruins

The Bruins want to re-tool on the fly and could see Miller as the perfect number-one centre for David Pastrnak and Brad Marchand. Boston is desperate for more offense and are in a battle right now to make the playoffs in the Eastern Conference. GM Don Sweeney has made bold moves in the past and would likely have to give up defenseman Brandon Carlo in this deal to appeal to the Canucks brass.

Dallas Stars

GM Jim Nill is as savvy as they come and could use Tyler Seguin's LTIR cap space to fit in Miller on the Stars. Dallas has firepower up front, but adding the intensity of Miller could be exactly what the doctor ordered for a Stanley Cup run. Logan Stankoven or Wyatt Johnston would be two names the Canucks would likely be after, with Thomas Harley a potential blueline target.

New Jersey Devils

There's been some reports that Miller prefers eastern USA as his next destination, as he does hold a no-movement clause and will have to approve any deal. The Devils make a ton of sense, and adding Miller, and all of his experience, could be perfectly suited to take the Devils over the hump. Top prospect Simon Nemec would certainly be involved if these two teams make a trade.

Toronto Maple Leafs

There's been plenty of speculation about the future of Morgan Rielly in Toronto, and with him being from B.C, perhaps these two teams align for a trade better than many expect. The Leafs are in the market for another center, so Miller certainly fits the bill there, while the Canucks want proven NHL talent, so adding Rielly to their blueline could appeal to Canucks' management.

New York Islanders

The Islanders are one of the NHL's hottest teams, and getting Miller in the mix could be a huge boost to their dressing room. Miller's as intense as they come on the ice, so playing for the fiery Patrick Roy seems like a perfect fit. Alexander Romanov would likely be involved, should these two teams facilitate a deal.
