Bruins Are 'Open For Business': 2 Players Who Could Be Moved

The Boston Bruins are officially "open for business," according to TSN’s Darren Dreger, as they grapple with a six-game losing streak and a slip in the Eastern Conference standings.

General Manager Don Sweeney is exploring trade options to address the team’s offensive struggles and keep their playoff aspirations alive. The Bruins have failed to score more than one goal in four of their recent losses, and with the March 7 trade deadline approaching, Sweeney is mapping out potential moves to fill roster gaps.

“We can look at the roster of the Boston Bruins, and we can see the holes up front and the areas of need from a Boston perspective,” Dreger said on TSN’s Insider Trading.

Two players drawing trade interest are forwards Trent Frederic and Justin Brazeau, both pending free agents.

Frederic, a gritty, physical player who embodies the Bruins' identity, has been linked to trade talks throughout the season, with playoff-bound teams showing interest in his style of play.

Brazeau, one of Boston’s top scorers with 10 goals and eight assists, offers an affordable option for teams in need of scoring depth, carrying a cap hit of under $1 million.

Dreger noted, “They’ve got some free-agent players, some pieces that definitely could, and likely will, be in play.”

The Bruins face mounting pressure to make quick decisions as their playoff hopes dwindle. While Sweeney is crafting a strategy leading up to the deadline, Dreger mentioned the team could pivot sooner if an appealing offer arises.
