Canucks' Trade Rumor: Elias Pettersson to the Buffalo Sabres?
The Vancouver Canucks continue to be an entertaining team to follow on the trade market, as it's become quite obvious the chatter has picked up around star forward Elias Pettersson.
From a reported riff with J.T Miller, which both players have denied, to underperforming when the games matter the most, it's been a roller-coast couple of seasons for Pettersson in Vancouver.
Recently, hockey insider Elliotte Friedman was spit-balling some ideas about a potential Pettersson trade, and mentioned the Buffalo Sabres could be a team to watch. What about a Dylan Cozens and Bowen Byram package heading to the Canucks? Here's more from Friedman:
"Do I think the #Canucks have talked to Buffalo? Yeah I do. Do I think the Sabres have talked to the #Canucks? Yes I do. Do I think that that's the exact combination they have talked about? No I don't know that.."@FriedgeHNIC talked about about his Byram, Cozens & Pettersson… pic.twitter.com/9UvttqkeIK

Pettersson is signed through the 2031-32 season, carrying a $11.6-million cap hit. He does not have any trade protection kick in within his contract until this upcoming offseason, giving Jim Rutherford and Patrik Allvin full authority to make a move, should they feel it upgrades the Canucks' roster.
Canucks fans? Would this trade work for you?
