Connor McDavid & Tyler Myers Facing Suspensions After Cross-Checks To The Face
Things got ugly at the end of the Vancouver Canucks' 3-2 win over the rival Edmonton Oilers Saturday night, so much so that both Connor McDavid and Tyler Myers will have disciplinary hearings with NHL Player Safety and face possible suspensions after delivering hard cross-checks to the face.
Connor McDavid’s the best player in the world. If the refs aren’t going to stop this from happening I’m fine with how 97 reacted.

After a wrestling match in which Canucks' forward Conor Garland was pinning McDavid to the ice as time ticked down in the Vancouver zone, the Oilers' superstar got up and cross-checked Garland in the face area. McDavid was issued a match penalty.
“Garland should have had about three penalties, right?” Sportsnet commentator Ray Ferraro said of the play.
Oilers insider Bob Stauffer said after the game, “Just a horrible officiating performance tonight.
"So what happens is the world’s best player has to take matters into his own hands because this league doesn’t call penalties."
Canucks' defenseman Tyler Myers is also facing a suspension for his crosscheck moments later to the face of Evan Bouchard that also earned a match penalty.

“I don’t care who is your team, they’re both crosschecks to the head,” said Sportsnet’s Kevin Bieksa, per The Edmonton Journal. “They’re both the same bad crosschecks to the head. They’re both suspensions. I don’t know how you argue there. But if there’s ever an argument to keep fighting in the NHL."
